"Now I say to you that you are Peter (which means ‘rock’), and upon this rock I will build my church, and all the powers of hell will not conquer it." - Matthew 16:18 NLT
The Church is not a building, but rather the people of God. Those who have come to God the Creator through Jesus Christ the Lord, and who follow the Leadership of The Holy Spirit. Those people (we) are called Christians or Believers.
The building which is sometimes referred to as the Church, is in reality the place where the church, God’s people come together to worship, praise, and adore Him.
Jesus established on Easter Sunday (over two thousand years ago) that His Father’s House is a House of Prayer and not a place of monitory profit (Matthew 21:13). The reason Jesus started out by saying “It is written…” is because He was quoting the prophets - Isaiah (56:7) and Jeremiah (7:11).
The Church (Believer’s) will one day be lifted out of this world and spend eternity with God the Father, Lord Jesus, and The Holy Spirit in Heaven for all eternity. It will happen in a twinkling of an eye. That glorious moment the Church awaits is called the Rapture (1 Thessalonians 4:16 and 17).
The CHURCH is God’s people having a revelation of Jesus! Salvation comes no other way.
